It has been about 2 months since I started using baking soda and oatmeal in my skin regimen to help with fading my acne scars and even out my hyperpigmentation and I am very pleased with how things have been going. I have decided to give the baking soda another month or two and stop using it daily after that since it has a really high ph. (I will use it on occasion.) As far as the oatmeal I'm going to keep that in my regimen long term because it's just soo awesome! (And gentle lol)
Baking Soda
* Cheap (I think I've seen it for like 50 cents!)
* Exfoliates VERY WELL
* VERY Abrasive (I don't recommend using if you have acne, or open cuts on your skin. Also, avoid rubbing too hard because you can cause serious damage!)
* Deep cleans
* Smooths the skin
* Evens the skintone
* High PH 8-8.5 ( Many people like to use something acidic like apple cider vinegar or lemon juice to help bring the balance back to the skin after using baking soda.)
* Used in many microdermabrasion cleansers as the main ingredient (sodium bicarbonate)

The boy's have reached ages where they are starting to understand some lessons of the Bible, so we have began teaching them more and more about how they can apply the things learned to their lives. We feel as though it is best to teach them both while they are young so they will be prepared for life as adults. This time, we focused on David and Goliath (1 Samuel chapters 16 and 17 KJV) and the bravery David had because he had the Lord on his side. The boys really love this lesson :) We learned that no matter what obstacle presents itself, God will ALWAYS see you through and be victorious! All we have to do is ask for Him to help and believe that He will do just that :) Have a blessed day!!!
It was time for me to attempt another bantu knot out...this would be the first time I've done a wet bantu knot out on my hair and I was very unsure how it was going to turn out! Although I was concerned, I decided I should go for it. Besides, if it turned out to be a complete disaster, I could always put it up in a puff lol. How do you think this turned out?
My Bantu Knots
I have 37 bantu knots in my hair!
The Results :)
I'm not sure if this is a fail or not because there is some frizz :) but overall, I kinda like it!

Ty and the boys decided to cook breakfast for Mother's Day! I thought it was soo sweet of them to get their hands dirty in the kitchen :) The boys had a blast learning how to make Aunt Jermima's pancakes and turkey sausage links lol! This was a very special Mother's Day and I love them all soo much! I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day too!
I'm really glad I haven't had trouble finger detangling my wash and go's any more! Especially since my wash and go's usually end up in TONS of knots and tangles :/ However, since I have been wearing the "stretched" wash and go's it has been soo much easier to get through. I'm soo happy that breaking down my stretched wash and go isn't any harder than breaking down a twistout :D I only had to snip 2 very tiny knots this time which is pretty normal for my fro :) This process takes me about 25-30 minutes at my current length :)
Here's what I did:
It's been a little over 2 weeks since Ty decided to "treat" himself to a vacation from the scale and his diet. He definitely had a little bit of everything in the pantry lol! He wanted to share an update on what happened during his time of fun :D Oh boy!
Good afternoon! Micah and I decided to stop by AC Moore Arts and Crafts Store today to look for scarves :) I'm usually able to find some pretty cool prints there for under $5.00. Today, I ended up finding a pretty green animal print scarf for $2.99 that I'm going to cut a strip off to use as a headband lol. I have to admit I may be going back there again tomorrow because they were having a TON of stuff on sale lol. It was almost like clearance!
I ended up picking up a storage case/box that can be used for things like makeup and jewelry and they were only $5.00! (They are usually 15-20 bucks!!!) It's a pretty sturdy case and it's covered in a neat printed paper that jazzes it up a bit :)
I also forgot to post this like a week ago lol, but I picked up a new baby brush from Target for under 4 bucks :) The brush has a nice weight to it but it's very gentle on the edges :) So this will keep my fro happy! BTW, I think I'm gonna try using the comb a little bit when I decide to do a detailed detangle on my hair lol. I'm just curious, because it's very flexible like my purple wide toothed comb :D
Don't laugh! Hey it works!!! :D
